INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLES
Ouachita Baptist University boasts a diverse offering of musical ensembles. It is our belief that a variety of performance experience is necessary to grow as a musician. Students participate in several ensembles each semester and are presented with numerous musical styles and genres that challenge them to broaden their horizons.
Chamber Ensembles
- open to all Ouachita students
 - half-hour of academic credit
 - offered in the Fall and Spring
 - performs campus concerts
 - tours to high schools and churches
 - performs standard repertoire
 
Clarinet Choir
- open to all Ouachita students
 
Double Reeds Ensemble
- open to all Ouachita students
 
Flute Ensemble

Jazz Band
- subject to audition
 - half-hour of academic credit
 - offered in the Fall and Spring
 - performs campus concerts
 - tours to high schools and churches
 - repertoire includes various jazz styles ranging from swing to progressive

Marching Band
- open to all Ouachita students with high school marching band experience
 - half-hour of academic credit
 - offered in the Fall
 - performs at football games and marching contests
 - repertoire includes jazz, pop, rock, and classical music

Percussion Ensemble
- open to all Ouachita students
 
Saxophone Ensemble
- open to all Ouachita students
 
Steel Drum Band
- open to all Ouachita students
 - Tiger Steel (advanced steel band) meets Monday and Wednesday
 - Pan Jouvet (beginning steel band) meets Fridays only
 - performs Caribbean music from Trinidad and Tobago
 - half-hour of academic credit
 - offered in the Fall and Spring
 - performs campus concerts and tours every other year

Symphonic Band
- open to any Ouachita student with band experience
 - half-hour of academic credit
 - offered in the Spring semester
 - performs campus concerts
 - provides music for Ouachita functions
 - wide variety of repertoire

Tiger Jam Pep Band
- subject to audition
 - performs at Ouachita Basketball games
 - performs at select invitational tournaments
 - performs at Gulf South Conference tournament games

 - rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. in the fall and spring semesters
