Setting Your Student Up for Success
July 15, 2025The transition to college life can be intimidating for any new student. It’s a time that brings greater responsibilities and independence, and it’s also one that comes with new, exciting opportunities. Still, it’s important to ready your student for the journey ahead.
Social media use is unavoidable in this age, so instead of dismissing its use entirely, I hoped to better understand what exactly was so dangerous about it. So, when it came time to choose a subject for my thesis for the Carl Goodson Honors Program, I had no difficulty making a decision.
On June 19, a day of reflection will occur as we observe the most recent federal holiday to be established, Juneteenth. If I could write a chapter for American history pertaining to Juneteenth, it would be entitled “Freedom Delayed.”
