Position summary
The Department of Accounting and Finance in the AACSB-Accredited Hickingbotham School of Business at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for three tenure-track positions (in Accounting, Business Analytics, and Finance) to begin August 2025. The successful candidates for these positions will display evidence of excellent teaching; scholarly activity in the field; a collegial commitment to professional, university, and departmental objectives, and a Christian commitment consistent with the university’s vision, mission, values, and statement of faith.
The Hickingbotham School of Business (HSB) is the only private AACSB-Accredited school in Arkansas, and remains one of the smallest AACSB programs in the world where teaching and research are both valued and supported. HSB faculty and students benefit from a generous endowment provided by the school’s namesake, Mr. Frank Hickingbotham. Additionally, faculty and students remain actively involved in the business community thanks in part to a highly engaged Executive Advisory Board that supports the efforts of the school.
Primary teaching responsibilities will include a cross-section of courses within the academic discipline. Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising, working with colleagues to develop new and existing programs, and actively participating in campus life. Additional opportunities exist for on and off-campus engagements, such as research and professional development. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. A PhD is preferred.

Patterson School of Natural Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computer Science to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will display evidence of successful classroom teaching, scholarship and/or qualified professional experience; an authentic Christian faith lived out through personal discipleship and active involvement in a local church; support for the university’s vision, mission, and values; and a commitment to our Christian liberal arts tradition. Primary responsibilities will include teaching a wide range of computer science courses, including courses in cybersecurity. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. Position summary
The Sutton School of Social Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track counseling position in the master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The successful candidate will serve as core faculty in preparation for the CACREP accreditation process.
Residential candidates preferred; remote/hybrid candidates will be considered. Remote/hybrid faculty will need to be on campus four times per year for campus intensives. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will exhibit excellence in teaching; scholarly activity in the field; a collegial commitment to university, departmental, and community service; and a Christian commitment and a Christian commitment consistent with the university’s vision, mission, values, and statement of faith.
Principal Duties
- Collaborate with the Counseling Program Director and other affiliated faculty to determine program curricula and establish operational policies and procedures for the faith-integrated counseling program
- Teach required coursework in the counseling program as needed
- Orient non-core counseling faculty to the program and accreditation requirements relevant to the courses they teach
- Engage with counseling program students in and out of the classroom as needed
- Evaluate student performance, including reporting grades and conducting regular reviews of academic progress and professional development
- Maintain communication with Sutton School of Social Sciences administration, faculty, and students
- Attend required faculty meetings in person (or if remote via Microsoft Teams)

Position Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Counselor Education or related fields in hand, preferably from a CACREP-accredited institution. Candidates with degrees in related fields must have at least one academic year of experience as a full-time faculty member in a graduate counselor education program before July 1, 2013
- Identification with the counseling profession through the following:
- Sustained membership in professional counseling organizations
- Maintenance of certifications and/or licenses related to counseling specializations
- Evidence of sustained professional development and renewal activities related to counseling, professional service and advocacy in counseling, and research and scholarly activity in counseling commensurate with faculty role
- Licensed or licensed eligible as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Position summary

The successful candidate will exhibit excellent teaching in the context of a liberal arts education; a collegial commitment to professional, university, departmental, and community service; and a Christian commitment consistent with the university’s vision, mission, values, and statement of faith. Primary responsibilities will normally include course work (three-quarters load) and production oversight (one-quarter load). Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising, collaborating in the creation of stage productions, recruiting students through events and auditions, coaching musical theatre recitals, and actively participating in campus life.
A terminal degree in theatre, along with evidence of successful teaching and creative activity in theatre performance, musical theatre, and stage direction are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate full bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English while showing an aptitude for engaging undergraduates in the immersive study of the Spanish language, Hispanic Studies, and linguistics. Primary responsibilities will include teaching both Spanish courses in the core curriculum and advanced classes in the major. Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising and involvement in the national Spanish honor society Sigma Delta Pi, and actively participating in campus life.
